2018 SMGA Match Play

To keep the schedule short, we will not have one overall Match Play Champion, only Flight Champions, with an enhanced prize pool in each flight.  We will play in full flights of eight, each flight paying three places.  Players will be grouped into four flights by handicap index.  Entry fee is $20 charged to your club account and the SMGA will enhance the purse by $80 for each flight.

It will be a modified double elimination match play tournament, with a consolation bracket.  You are guaranteed two matches.  If you win three consecutive matches you will be the Flight Champion.

You have two weeks (three weeks for the first match) to arrange your own mutually agreed tee times and play the match.  After that you have two weeks to complete each subsequent round.  The schedule is firm, if the match has not completed by the deadline, the players should decide which one is the most responsible and report the result as a concession.  The winner's bracket will complete May 21, 2018 followed by the final consolation round by June 4, 2018.
